作为南开大学生物学院这一在中国非常出色大学的老师，我很高兴能有机会把我喜欢的学生之一的她推荐给你们的PhD项目。

04年9月，我给她们上普通生物学，这是她们上的第一门专业课程。她表现出了非常浓厚的兴趣。我上课的方式比较开放，互动性较强，她是喜欢对我课上提出问题进行回答的学生之一。她从不害怕说出自己的看法，就算是和我的观点不一致。除此之外，她经常在下课后单独找我交流一些对问题的看法，甚至直接到我的办公室找我。

普通生物学结课的时候，我让学生们就对生物学的认识写一篇论文。张笑寒的同学的论文给了我很深的印象，她自主的查阅了几十篇文献，对生物学的研究现状以及一些分支做了独特的富有创造性的思考，体现出了她所具有的创新性和逻辑性科学思维的良好品质。从她的这篇论文中可以看出她对普通生物学这门课程已经有了一个比较清晰的结构认识。所以她的论文我给了全班高分，并作为范文让其他学生学习其中的优点。

In September, 2004, Miss Zhang was my students in General Biology, the first professional course they take in the field. She likes it very much. Therefore Miss Zhang got a full point for her essay in her class, and other students took it as model essay for granted.
